Hastings
Ex Boxers Association (EBA)
The
Hastings Ex Boxers Association is the brain child of HWABC's
former coach and chairman Dave Harris. Dave whose name is engrained
in club history continues
to actively support the HWABC behind the scenes without accepting
any plaudits for his efforts - Please keep up the good work
Dave, as it is very much appreciated.
The
aim of the EBA is to support any former boxer in their time
of need and to support any local boxer to further their boxing
career - All financial assistance is decided by the committee
of Ex Boxers.
Meetings
take place on the last sunday of every month in the saloon bar
of The Duke Public House, Duke Road, Silverhill, the bar of
which is filled with boxing memorabilia specific to the HWABC.
Yearly membership is £5 which covers the cost of the quarterly
newsletter, an example of which is available here
in PDF format.
At
a recent meeting the Ex Boxers Association presented the HWABC
with a cheque for £450.00 that was gratefully received
on behalf of the club by Brian Robinson and Dave Bishop.
