Show Results

Bout 1: S.Hill Finchley ABC Won M/Pts R.Verlander HWABC

An excellent bout to start the night, both lads were well schooled and boxed superbly. Hill was awarded a majority points victory in a bout that ebbed and flowed continuously. We apologise lads but photos of your bout are not available.

That won't stop meBout 2: J.Harris Hillcrest ABC Lost U/Pts H.Bristow HWABC

Henry Bristow is simply unstoppable at present having won 7 times in his last 7 bouts, all the more remarkable considering he lost his first 4 bouts! The turn around in Henry's form is due to determination and persistence, 2 attributes that both Henry and his coach Ian Bourner have in abundance.

Henry won the bout by unanimous points although at times the bout was very competitive with Harris landing some heavy shots, but was unable to dissuade Henry from his game plan - Well done to both lads.

A quality jabBout 3: M.Dean Guildford City ABC Won U/Pts Z.Morgan Hove ABC

An excellent bout between two well school lads from visiting clubs Hove ABC and Guildford City ABC.

Dean who looked that little more polished on the night secured a unanimous points victory over the game Morgan, both boys look to have bags of potential and will no doubt continue to do well in the years to come.

2 for the futureBout 4: R.Kelly Faversham ABC Won U/Pts L.Foster HWABC

HWABC's Liam Foster's had an excellent first round against R Kelly of Faversham ABC only to find his opponent change tactics superbly in round 2, using slick movement to counterpunch his way back into the bout and set up an exciting third round that would decide the outcome.

Liam dug deep and gave it his all but Kelly stuck to his tactics that had worked to so well previously to secure a unanimous points victory. Both lads received rapturous applause for their efforts - An excellent bout!

A tough scrapBout 5: S.Oaks St Marys ABC Won RSC 3rd C.Sime HWABC

Oaks of St marys ABC belied his inexperience to force a stoppage over talented HWABC boxer Conner Sime in the third round of their bout.

Although Conner performed under par nothing should be taken away from Oaks as he was on top when the bout was stopped a little prematurely in the 3rd. A rematch would certainly be an excellent bout to grace any evening of boxing and will no doubt happen in the near future.

Henry moving inBout 6: T.Matthews Faversham ABC Won M/Pts H.Woodman Ball HWABC

Henry Woodman Ball had only been back in the gym a matter of months after a near year long lay off but that didn't stop him taking on the in form and talented T. Matthews of Faversham ABC, nor did it stop him from almost pulling off a fine victory.

Ultimately it was a mix of Matthews talent and experience along with a lack of fight fitness that prevented Henry from securing a victory. A crowd pleasing humdinger of a bout that must be matched again later in the season - Well done both lads!

The heavyweights slugging it outBout 7: T.Welch Hove ABC Lost U/Pts M.Simpson Bexhill Atha ABC

Hove ABC's T Welch, son of former professional heavyweight favourite Scott Welch and Bexhill's local talent Mikey Simpson went to war from the first bell and didn't stop until the bell sounded for the end of the third, an amazing feat given that both lads were in excess of 90Kg. Both lads who were well supported and obviously didn't want to short change their supporters, they certainly didn't, in fact they ensured value for money plus interest.

A superb bout that was awarded the bout of the night trophy.

A perfect Jab from FinnBout 8: A.Rahimi Reading ABC Won RSC 3rd F.Matcalfe HWABC

Finn Metcalfe was hoping to avenge a previous stoppage loss to Rahimi of Reading ABC and had been working very hard to ensure his success.

Unfortunately on the night it wasn't to be as Finn didn't get into his flow quickly enough to capitalise on his reach advantage, thus allowing Rahimi space and time to apply consistent pressure that ultimately forced the referee to stop the bout in Rahimi's favour half way through the third round.

Kyle in actionBout 9: M.Essex Danson Youth ABC Lost U/Pts K.Logan HWABC

Kyle remains one of the club's leading lights and is a model of consistency. Although Essex of Danson youth kept the bout competitive Kyle was the clear winner over the three rounds.

Both lads are a credit to their respective clubs as both displayed excellent boxing technique in what was an enjoyable bout to watch for all in attendance.

Bout 10: D.Codona Guildford City ABC Won RSC 1st S.Hill HWABC

Darren Codona of Guildford City ABC wasn't in any mood to hang about in his match up with HWABC's Steve Hill and was across the ring throwing bombs just seconds after the first bell rang. Steve was perhaps caught by surprise by the onslaught and was stopped amidst a barrage of punches early in the first round. We apologise lads but photos of your bout are not available.

A clever over hand rightBout 11: A.Byfield Reading ABC Lost M/Pts H.Bambridge Hove ABC

Bout 11 was an evenly contested bout between Byfield of Reading ABC and Bambridge of Hove ABC that saw the slick foot work of Bambridge swing the bout to his advantage.

Both lads displayed excellent boxing ability and both will no doubt go along way.

Ben and Dave going at itBout 12: B.White Finchley ABC Lost U/Pts D.Murphy Brighton City ABC

Ben White now boxing for Finchley ABC was matched for the third time in recent months against Brighton city ABC's Dave Murphy, both holding a win a piece.

The first round was close, as was the second until Murphy landed some cleaner shots towards the end of the round. Ben now playing catch up had to push the pace but in doing so left opportunity for Dave to counter which he did very accurately allowing him to secure a unanimous points victory.

Smith lands a straight rightBout 13: J.Smith Hailsham ABC Won U/Pts J.Woods Foley ABC

In a highly anticipated bout Jake Woods of Foley ABC was the first to admit he just didn't get going in his bout with James Smith, allowing Smith of Hailsham to pretty much cruise to a unanimous points decision over 4 rounds.

Taking nothing away from Smith who boxed well, Woods just wasn't his normal busy bustling self and as such Smith was able to capitalise very efficiently - Two very good boxers whose styles didn't blend as expected on this occasion.

Saunders looking for an openingBout 14: J.Saunders St Marys ABC Won U/Pts J.Winson Finchley ABC

Similar to the previous bout, bout 14 matched between 2 very accomplished boxers in John Winson of Finchley ABC and John Saunders of St Marys ABC also seemed to be somewhat of a clash of styles with both boys feeling that they had performed below their very best.

Saunders won by a unanimous points decision.

SteveLukeBout 15: L.Batstone Hove ABC Won M/Pts S.Garlic HWABC

The final bout of the night saw our own Steve Garlick take a huge step forward by taking on and almost upsetting Hove ABC's far more experienced Luke Batstone. Steve boxed his heart out and began to land some good shots that surprised Batstone. It was a tight affair that had the crowd on their feet right to very end of the 4th round and it could have gone either way, however on this occasion Luke was awarded a majority points victory - Good effort Steve!
